“Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we obey his commands and do what pleases him.”
1 John 3:21-22

John Piper. Defined.

I thought this post was interesting.  It is a list of some words (not necessarily theological words) and Piper’s definitions of them and references to those sermons or resources from where the definitions were taken.

The author, Jamsco, did a good job of putting the definitions together, so I thank him.  Check out Piper Definitions, it’s not a very long post, but it sure did spark some long comments.  I know many of you think I am concisely challenged, but I’ve got nothing on a gal named Chris who commented on the post (again and again, longer and longer).

Don't worry about it; that's just how it is with some names. Your blog is very interesting:)
  • Hey Chris thanks for the comment. I'm not going to comment on whether or not I think women are wordier than men. That sounds like it could get me in trouble with my wife (who for the record, I believe, would argue that I am way too wordy and she says only what is necessary). That wasn't a comment about it was it?

Anyway, thanks for the comment, and for the record, I like comments of any length. I love to hear what people think, especially when they will put a lot of thought and effort into it.

Oh, and by the way, what made my confusion about the spelling/gender of your name worse, is that I have a good friend named and spelled Kris, and he's a guy.

I changed the text of the post to say "gal". Sorry for my confusion.

Hey, Dustin. I see that you made reference to the length of my comments. I have one of those crazy names that can go either way, so just for the record, I'm a gal, which is probably why I am wordier than most of you fellows who run these blogs. Don't they say that women have thousands of more words to use up each day than men do?
